À Propos de L'artiste
Né en 1959 en France, Farid SAÂDI a commencé à dessiner dès son tout jeune âge. Ses parents remarquent très vite tout l’intérêt qu’il porte pour le dessin. Puis à peine entré dans l’adolescence c’est tout naturellement qu’il se tourne vers la gouache dans un premier temps puis vers la peinture à l’huile.
Il adore peindre mais se dit dessinateur avant tout car il accorde une importance primordiale à la qualité et l’exactitude de son trait. C’est pourquoi ne laissant rien au hasard, il étudie la perspective afin d’approfondir son travail comme il se doit. Il maîtrise également les techniques anciennes de peinture à l’huile dans le but d’obtenir un résultat peaufiné et ce en utilisant des glacis, couches successives de peinture. Ne travaillant exclusivement qu’avec quatre pigments, aussi bien à l’huile comme à l’aquarelle, à savoir l’ocre jaune, la laque carminée, l’ombre brûlée et le bleu d’outremer, il obtient ainsi toute une gamme de teintes se mariant parfaitement entre elles.
Le style de Farid peut être décrit comme étant réaliste, précis et très détaillé. Il reste profondément inspiré par le clair-obscur, ce qui prédomine à travers son travail.
Faisant appel au phénomène de la paréidolie ou l'art de voir autre chose, un phénomène cognitif associant jeu de formes, d'ombres et de lumières. C'est une sorte d'illusion d'optique obligeant ainsi le visiteur à s'attarder sur ses toiles afin de comprendre ce qui s'y cache.
Utilisant ainsi la paréidolie comme un outil artistique et poétique, Farid nous tire ainsi dans son univers artistique où se mêlent paysages et personnages. Le surréalisme reste son thème central où la beauté féminine fait écho à la beauté de la nature.
« L’Art est pour moi un voyage intérieur et ne devrait pas simplement s’arrêter aux frontières du Réalisme mais franchir cette barrière et nous plonger au cœur même de l’imaginaire, du Surréalisme où chaque tableau apporte avec lui un carré de silence et une raison à notre ramage intérieur de s’interrompre.
Je pense qu'il faut faire appel à l'imaginaire, l'impossible, l'irréel par le biais du phénomène de la paréidolie afin de captiver l’attention du visiteur. L'art ne doit pas s'arrêter à l'hyperréalisme mais aller beaucoup plus loin, au-delà des frontières du réel.
L'hyperréalisme reste à coup sûr une prouesse technique avant tout mais reste dénué de toute créativité. J'admire ce travail bien évidemment cependant cela ne me suffit plus ou ne me correspond pas vraiment.
Si seulement je pouvais tirer un trait dans le ciel pour empêcher le soleil de se coucher afin que la création ne s’interrompt jamais !… »
About The Artist
Born in France in 1959, Farid has been drawing and painting from a very young age. His parents rapidly noticed his skill in drawing. Then, barely a teenager, he naturally started painting with gouache paint, and afterward, with oil paint.
He loves painting, but declares his first love of sketching since he grants a primordial importance to the quality and the exactness of his line.
That is the reason why, leaving nothing to chance, he studied perspective in order to deal with his artwork in depth as it has to be.
He is an expert in ancient oil painting methods, in order to get a perfect result by using glazings. He only works with four pigments, either with water colour or oils, yellow ochre, madder lake deep, which is a deep red, ultramarine deep and burnt umber. Therefore he gets different hues perfectly harmonized.
Farid’s style can be described as realistic, vivid and very detailed. He is profoundly inspired by the use of chiaroscuro, the treatment of light and shade in drawing and painting, which prevails throughout his work.
Appealing to the concept of pareidolia, or the way how things are percieved through a pattern or meaning where it does not actually exist, using shapes, shadows and light. Farid sweeps us along into his artistic world where landscapes and people are combined. Surrealism, his central theme, revolves around the beauty of women which, in his pieces, echoes the beauty of nature. It is a kind of optical illusion making the visitor linger on his artwork in order to understand what is hidden, using pareidolia as an artistic and visual tool.
"For me, art is an inner journey and should not simply stop at the boundary of Realism but break through this obstacle and plunge us into the very core of imagination, of surrealism, where each painting brings a moment of silence and a reason to quiet our minds. I think we have to call our imagination, the fantasy, with the help of pareidolia, in order to enthrall the attention of the viewer. Art must not stop to hyperrealism but have to go farther, beyond the boundaries of reality.
If only I could draw a line in the sky to prevent the sun from going down in order to never interrupt creation!”
